Notice of Eligibility for Mixed Earners Unemployment Compensation (MEUC) Benefits

You are eligible for federal Mixed Earners Unemployment Compensation (MEUC) benefits on your current unemployment claim or extension effective

The MEUC program pays an additional $100 per week in supplemental unemployment benefits to claimants who earned self-employment income in the year prior to their claim, apply for the program, and meet all MEUC eligibility requirements under federal law.

MEUC payments are retroactive to December 27, 2020, and can be paid for any week you are eligible for benefits until the week-ending date of September 5, 2021. MEUC benefits will be added to each week you are eligible to receive at least $1 in benefits on your current unemployment claim, or if those benefits were used to offset an overpayment.

You must certify your eligibility for each week of MEUC benefits. If you already submitted your weekly certifications, the EDD will automatically issue your MEUC benefits retroactively.

Note: Knowingly and willfully making a false statement in connection with this claim is a Federal Offense, punishable by a fine of not more than $10,000 or imprisonment for not more than five years, or both. (U.S.C. sectionยง1001)
